Headline: WATT Poultry, 7/16/2026

Roy Graber reports:
For the second time this month, a commercial poultry flock in Cache County, Utah, has been hit by highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI).
According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), the latest case was confirmed on July 13 and involved a flock of 275,100 table egg layer pullets.
This case was confirmed one week after another commercial flock in Cache County was affected. In that situation, 1.2 million laying hens were affected. Cache County also earlier this summer had a commercial dairy herd struck by the H5N1 virus.
