The latest situation was confirmed on October 10 and involves a flock in Bifrost-Riverton, CFIA stated, but information concerning what type of commercial poultry operation was involved or how many birds were in it was not disclosed.
One day before that, CFIA reported that another Manitoba flock – in Ste. Rose – had been struck by HPAI. The province’s only other instance of HPAI in 2025 occurred in May and involved a commercial turkey and duck operation in Wallace.
So far in 2025, HPAI has appeared in commercial poultry operations in six Canadian provinces: Saskatchewan, Quebec, Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario and British Columbia.
