Roy Graber reports:
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) reported that the two most recent cases were confirmed on March 20.
One of the flocks was in LaGrange County. It included 16,000 commercial meat ducks. The other was in Elkhart County, and it included 13,200 meat ducks.
So far in 2026, Indiana has had more commercial poultry flocks struck by HPAI than any other U.S. state. With these two instances, APHIS lists the number of confirmed commercial poultry flock infections this year at 26.
