More evidence that everything Trump touches turns to shit (Kennedy Center edition)

Headline:  New York Times, 11/ 7/2025
Shawn McCreesh reports:
That is not the only breakdown the Kennedy Center has had since President Trump named himself its chairman in February.
Interviews with 25 people, including current and former Kennedy Center executives, board members, longtime employees, recent hires, industry leaders and Trump administration officials, revealed a Washington institution in crisis. Audiences are staying away. Internal sales figures obtained by The New York Times showed ticket sales down by about 50 percent from the same period last year during one typical week in October. Dozens of employees, many with decades of experience, have been fired or quit. Outsiders with few obvious qualifications aside from party loyalty were handed top jobs. The center’s head of human resources estimated that staffing was down 30 percent from before Mr. Trump took over. Others call that a conservative estimate. [emphasis added]

Dithering Wisconsin GOP continues to block election reform

Headline:  Wisconsin Public Radio, 11/6/2025

Rich Kremer reports:
Despite past bipartisan backing, a Republican state lawmaker says he has to “punt” an initiative to let election clerks process absentee ballots before election day because it doesn’t have enough GOP support.
In September, Republicans and Democrats in the state Assembly stood side-by-side and unveiled a series of bills to update Wisconsin’s election laws. One of those initiatives is known as early processing or Monday processing. Requested by clerks, it would let them process absentee ballots the day before an election so that results can be released sooner once the polls close.
The Monday process concept has been unable to clear the Legislature for several years. It was last introduced in 2023.

A much different look on the Democratic side of the Assembly

Paging Jeanette Hoffman, your second serving of a plate of crow is hot now hot and ready!

Headline:  New York Post, 10/29/2025

Here are Jeanette's final two comments in her wet-dream misreading of the tea leaves:

JEANETTE: Actually, it was much more difficult for Jack to run against incumbent Governor Murphy. We’re seeing it play out now. Democrats’ vote-by-mail margins aren’t nearly as robust as in 2021.
I'd also argue this election's a referendum on policies of the State House, not the White House. Finally, the national GOP didn’t invest nearly as much time or resources in this race four years ago.
But this go-around, between GOTV efforts and financial support, everyone's united to get Jack across the finish line because they know he can win
JEANETTE: Well, I guess New Jersey is the focus group for the nation. But I think Garden State voters are smart enough not to fall for the Democrats’ ploy.

2025 New Jersey governor's race: Jeanette Hoffman, your plate of crow is hot and ready!

Headline:  New York Post, 10/29/2025

Ryan King reports in Jeanette's wet-dream misreading of the tea leaves:
A surprising 53% of likely NJ voters believe their co-workers and neighbors are supporting Ciattarelli, compared to 47% who said the same about Rep. Sherrill (D-NJ), according to a poll from Quantus Insights.
That same poll also pegged Sherrill with a slim 49% to 46% lead over Ciattarelli.
“This finding shows that Republicans, Democrats and Independents alike recognize that momentum is surging for Jack Ciattarelli, and that's why he’s on track to win next Tuesday,” New Jersey-based GOP strategist Jeanette Hoffman told The Post.
