Roy Graber reports:
Information from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) revealed that the presence of HPAI was confirmed in 31 commercial poultry flocks in British Columbia in 2025. Five of those instances were confirmed in January before the province experienced a months-long absence of the virus.
HPAI resurfaced there in October and commercial flocks continued to be affected through November and December, with the last case being confirmed on December 19. The majority of the affected flocks were in the Fraser Valley communities of Abbotsford and Chilliwack.
