Greetings from Trump's America: Cleburne County, Arkansas, where 30-some people learn about social distancing the hard way

Nearly 3 dozen who attended Arkansas church event test positive for coronavirus.  (NBC News, 3/26/2020)
Mark Palenske, a pastor at the church, said in a lengthy Facebook post late last week that he and his wife, Dena, were among those to test positive for COVID-19.
He said that when such a virus spreads on the other side of the world, "your first inclination is to assume that time and distance are on your side."
But "that false assumption" recently caught up with him and his wife, he said.

When it comes to nursing home safety, all we get from the Trump administration is double-talk

According to Merriam-Webster, the first known use of 'double-talk', as in language that appears to be earnest and meaningful but in fact is a mixture of sense and nonsense, occurred in 1936.

Other coinages from the same year include:
  • anti-consumer
  • blabbermouth
  • Chinese checkers
  • decontaminate
  • dingleberry
  • newsbreak

Based on the evidence below, ya gotta wonder about quality control regarding recent federal ratings.

All hail liar-in-chief Donald Trump: Chloroquine edition

Dr. Daniel Brooks, medical director of the Banner Poison and Drug Information Center, said in an interview on Monday night that the couple’s attempt to self-medicate was a cautionary tale.
“It’s incredibly dangerous and foolish for people to be doing this,” he said. “This is not going to be a magic pill for us to get us through this.”
Dr. Brooks said the couple had read about chloroquine phosphate on the internet, which he said was cluttered with a lot of misinformation about treatments for Covid-19, the disease caused by the new coronavirus. He said the public should rely on authoritative sources such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the World Health Organization and state health officials for medical advice — not the internet or politicians.

Why the experts should conduct the coronavirus press briefings and why the politicians, Trump in particular, should stay as far away from the cameras as possible.  In fact, the hearing should not be held in the White House.

His first recorded remarks were on January 22.
“Are there worries about a pandemic at this point?” a reporter asked Turmp.
"No. Not at all,” the president replied. “And we have it totally under control. It’s one person coming in from China, and we have it under control. It’s going to be just fine.”

Trump says coronavirus crisis could stretch into August, may look at lockdown for ‘certain areas’  (CNBC, 3/16/2020)

And what "people are talking", Mr. Trump?  You'd be much better served by quoting Anthony Fucci.   Or letting him run the press conferences.  Unlike you, he knows what he's talking about.

Apparently a different Alphabet subsidiary called Verily is working on a small-scale Bay-area website for COVID-19 pre-testing triage.
The as-yet-unreleased site will help people understand if they should get tested, and then direct them to appropriate facilities. It is, however, not even in testing yet, and is currently designated only for the Bay Area: San Francisco and environs.
Verily does, however, have “hope of expanding more broadly over time.”

Or, in the case of advertising, make you part with your money for products for which you have absolutely no use.

You'd think by now, Donald Trump would have used up all of his free passes.
