Roy Graber reports:
Georgia has lost its third commercial broiler breeder flock to highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) this year.
According to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), the latest occurrence involved 39,600 birds in Hart County. The situation was confirmed on February 2.
This flock infection follows two instances in January when the virus was confirmed in broiler breeder flocks in Walker County. One of those flocks had 71,300 birds, while the other had 16,100.
