According to information from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), the counties of Elkhart, LaGrange and Noble each had one flock affected.
The Noble County flock was the largest, with 5,700 ducks involved. The Elkhart County flock had 5,200 birds involved, while the LaGrange County flock included 4,500 ducks.
So far in 2025, 64 commercial poultry flocks in Indiana have been hit by HPAI, most of which have involved commercial duck operations. Of those 64, 29 have been meat duck flocks and 17 have been duck breeders.
