Roy Graber reports:
According to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), both broiler flocks were in LaGrange County. One flock had 23,000 birds, while the other had 10,800.
So far in 2025, 52 commercial poultry flocks in Indiana have been struck by HPAI, but these are the first two broiler flock infections in the state to be hit by HPAI during the entire 2022-25 outbreak, according to APHIS data. Regarding the five new duck flock infections, all but one was in LaGrange County. Those included two meat duck flocks, involving 2,900 and 6,300 birds; and two breeder flocks, involving 3,700 and 3,800 birds.
