Bird flu outbreak reported in Daviess County Indiana

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) reported that on February 25, the presence of HPAI was confirmed in a commercial meat turkey flock in Daviess County, Indiana. There were approximately 30,000 turkeys in the flock 
Already in 2026, Indiana has had seven confirmed flock infections, although this is the first occurrence in Daviess County. Other counties with confirmed cases include Boone, Elkhart, Sullivan and LaGrange. All of those cases have involved either turkeys or ducks.
