What does it mean? What do you think?

Headline:  NPR, 1/17/2023
In the Trump era of politics, Greene has quickly become one of the most prolific fundraisers and attention-getters in the Republican Party — and not always for good reasons. Shortly after being sworn in in 2021, the Democratic-controlled House stripped Greene of her committee assignments for a cornucopia of online and in-person comments that dabbled in degrees of conspiracy theories, anti-Semitism and other incendiary rhetoric that she has occasionally apologized for.
"I just wanted to come here today and say that I'm truly sorry for offending people with remarks about the Holocaust," she said in June 2021 after comparing mask mandates in the House to the murder of more than 6 million Jews and other people who were killed by Nazi Germany. "There's no comparison."

If you believe one word of the underlined quote, have I got a deal for you!!!

The Mother Road: 1925 Lake Overholser Bridge on the original Route 66 in Oklahoma

For more than three decades the bridge served as a critical link for motorists traveling across the State and country. Some were vacationers, others crossed this bridge with hopes of finding better lives further west, and others were part of the trucking industry which was rapidly replacing rail transport. The volume was tremendous. By the 1950s, the bridge could not sustain this level of constant traffic. Heavily chromed cars with shapely fins had to sit too long at the bottleneck the bridge had become. In 1958, the Federal Government took action, replacing this segment of Route 66 with a new four-lane divided highway just to the north. The new section included a wider bridge, while local traffic continued to pass over the Lake Overholser Bridge.

GET ME REWRITE: Missouri GOP fights crime and inflation by targeting transgender people and drag shows

Top headline:  NBC, 10/16/2022
Bottom headline:  St. Louis Dispatch, 1/25/2023

From the Dispatch:
The timing of the hearings so early in the Legislature’s annual session reflected the priority Missouri Republicans have placed on addressing controversial culture war topics ahead of the next election. Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft, a Republican weighing a bid for governor in 2024, testified in favor of House legislation to ban transgender girls from girls sports, suggesting it was a matter of fairness.
“The science is clear,” Ashcroft said. “I’m not saying that men are superior to women, but genetically men have a better bone mass. They generally have stronger muscle mass. They’re generally faster. They’re generally stronger.”
His appearance at the legislative hearing drew sharp criticism from Democrats.
“This is not in the realm of what your office does,” said Rep. Peter Merideth, D-St. Louis. “I’m seeing you here, and that suggests maybe it’s actually about the fact that you’re running for governor.”

From Janel's fawning press release:
I am grateful for the Stolen Innocence forum put on by Parents on Patrol last night. They did an exceptional job presenting and explaining what is going on in our schools today.

From the Journal Sentinel:
The ticketed event, "Stolen Innocence: A Panel on the Insidious Ideology Infecting Your Children's Education," took place inside the Pewaukee hotel, 2810 Golf Road. Hosted by local organization Parents on Patrol, five panelists explained to the sold-out venue how schools are "sexually grooming" children by teaching them about gender identity and sexual orientation.
A reporter covering the protest was not allowed access to the event [emphasis added]
"The reality is, they are coming for your child," read the event's description on Eventbrite. "You need to stand in the way."
The event comes at a time when Muskego-Norway, Germantown, Arrowhead and Waukesha school boards have enacted policies that prohibit staff from referring to students by their preferred name and/or pronouns without express parental permission. Nationally, over 200 anti-trans bills have been introduced this year, according to the American Civil Liberties Union.

From the Cowboy State Daily:
Sen. Larry Hicks, R-Baggs, sponsored Senate File 166 as a gesture Wyoming can make in recognizing and helping to address a national immigration crisis.
“When you’re faced with an overflowing bathtub, it doesn’t make sense to grab the mop,” Hicks said. “You have to reach for the spigot. Rather than putting a continuing burden on our local state governments and stand with the mop.”

Lately, Wyoming hasn't been high on anyone's list of places of move to.

CES 2023: JBL Tour Pro 2 earbuds

Retiring Guy is a big fan of JBL products, although this one might be a bit pricey for him.  Let's see what my tax refund looks like.

Billboard, 1/27/2023
Using VoiceAware tech, the earbuds connect to the JBL Headphones app to adjust sound levels and block out noise to create a distraction-free environment. Anyone who wants to tune down their own voice can turn down the sound when speaking — and the ear buds will be sure to pause the music when a phone call comes through.
Why We Love It: The touchscreen smart case houses the earbuds and receives calls and messages, adjusts audio and voice volume and even connects to smartphones to perform basic tasks like setting alarms.
Cost: $249.95

CES 2023: Mevo Go Multicam

Billboard, 1/27/2023
Mevo Go Multicam is a new app from Logitech that provides creators with multicam streaming and recording. The creator app can be used on either iOS or Android phones to stream and record multicamera videos in 1080p HD resolution. This is a handy way to capture live events, sports games and music performances. This is an ideal way to send video, audio and screencasts because no additional hardware is necessary. In the app, there is also the option to upgrade to Mevo Pro, which has other useful features like multi-destination streaming.
Why We Love It: The Mevo Multicam offers the quickest and smoothest way to incorporate new angles to creators’ stories. This is a must-have for social media creatives looking to boost their material with minimal effort.
Cost: Mevo Pro ($19 per month or $149 annually)

CES 2023: Fufuly robot cushion

Billboard, 1/27/2023
The Fufuly relaxation robot simulates the natural cadence of human breathing, working to steady shallow breaths and restore respiratory rhythm. Inducing the effects of this “deep breathing technology” can increase productivity, promote better sleep quality and simply calm the nerves. Yukai Engineering, a Japanese company that specializes in “lifestyle robots,” collaborated with Tokyo University to pioneer the design that brings “rhythmical synchronization” to anyone that gives a Fufuly a prolonged squeeze.
Why We Love It: Aside from an adorable design, the Fufuly robot pillow is the soft, approachable model that is activated with the flick of a switch. Three modes can be activated for different purposes.
