Avian influenza has been detected at two more poultry farms near Listowel, Ont., bringing the total number of outbreaks to eight in Ontario, according to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA).
The first affected farm in the area saw roughly 56,000 turkeys culled last week, according to the CFIA, which said Tuesday the virus was detected at two other nearby commercial farms in North Perth on Dec. 19 and Dec. 21.
A total of 109,000 turkeys were affected among the three farms.
