Duck flock hit with avian flu in Elkhart County, Indiana

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) reported HPAI was confirmed February 13 in a commercial duck flock in Elkhart County, Indiana. The flock included 10,700 birds. 

According to APHIS, this is the third commercial poultry operation in the state to be affected by HPAI in 2026. The other two occurrences were in January in LaGrange County. Both were duck operations, with one a meat duck operation and the other a duck breeder farm.
