Headline:  P\WATT Poultry, 2/12/2026

Roy Graber reports:
A flock of table egg laying hens in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, is the latest case of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) to be reported in a United States commercial poultry operation.
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) reported that the case was confirmed on February 11, and that there were 104,800 birds involved
This situation was confirmed one day after another case of HPAI was reported in the same county, involving a flock of 36,000 commercial meat turkeys. So far in 2026,
Pennsylvania has had three commercial egg layer flocks struck by HPAI, all of which have been in Lancaster County. Two earlier flock infections were confirmed on January 28 and February 3. [emphasis added]
