Roy Graber reports:
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) reported that the presence of HPAI was confirmed in a commercial meat turkey flock in Crawford County, Illinois. There were 20,400 turkeys in that flock, and the situation was confirmed on March 3.
According to information from APHIS, the last time HPAI was confirmed in a commercial poultry operation in the state was March 20, 2025. It was one of two commercial flock infections confirmed that year. Both of those instances also involved turkey farms in Crawford County.
