MSU's Robertson says climate change will probably affect us in two ways. The first way is what he calls the "well behaved" changes, such as the predictable nature of effects from warmer temperatures. The second way climate change will affect us is what he terms "ill mannered" effects. Those effects are the unpredictable outcomes of extreme weather events like droughts and floods.

UPDATE: On the Matter of Per Diems, Scott Krug Breaks His Promise

Again.  He collects another $6,512 in 2014.

    [Original 4/7/2014 post begins here.]

Boxed quote is from State lawmakers' per diem claims topped $1.1M in 2013. (Wisconsin State Journal, 4/6/2014)

One of a number of benefits.  Per diems are meant to cover food and lodging costs while lawmakers are in Madison doing state business. Those who live in Dane County can claim $44 a day while those from outside Dane County receive $88 a day. The amounts are on top of legislators’ nearly $50,000 annual salary.

Scott Walker sez politics has nothing to do with his casino decision

    Saturday, January 17, 2015
As Walker considers the impact of a casino on Wisconsin, gambling opponents want to make sure he doesn't forget Iowa's first-in-the-nation caucus to select presidential nominees. Important for any presidential bid, Iowa is particularly key for Walker, who spent part of his childhood there and now governs a neighboring state.

    Friday, January 23, 2015
Walker, who is exploring a presidential campaign, put the kibosh on the casino one day before he heads to Iowa, an important state in the presidential sweepstakes. Some Iowa conservatives have urged the governor to veto the Kenosha casino.

Walker doesn't even rate a mention in this report.  But fluffernutters Sarah Palin and Rick Santorum get brief face time.

Little recognized at the time, perhaps owing to the gravity of the national mood [15 days after President Kennedy's assassination] , was an innovation that changed the way sports — and other events — were televised, seen and, eventually, officiated. In the fourth quarter of the game, when Army quarterback Rollie Stichweh ran for a touchdown, CBS not only showed the play live but also showed it again immediately on tape. It was the first time that had happened.
So striking was the innovation that Lindsey Nelson, the play-by-play announcer, exclaimed to viewers:

GOP strategist with Iowa ties joins Team Scott Walker.  (Des Moines Register, 1/23/2015)
[David] Polyansky, a Texan who played senior roles in two Iowa presidential campaigns and was the top strategist in Republican Joni Ernst's successful campaign for U.S. Senate this past fall, will be Team Walker's senior adviser in Iowa, sources told The Des Moines Register Thursday.
