Lincoln Avenue Capital of Santa Monica, California, is proposing to raze the strip mall that holds Ultrazone laser tag and other businesses for the four-story housing project offering 60 units — including 51 lower-cost units — at 680 Grand Canyon Drive on the West Side.

Now, Lincoln Avenue Capital is seeking to demolish the gray, 20,280-square-foot strip mall, built on 1.1 acres in 1985, for an L-shaped housing project with a sloped roof, also valued at about $20 million. 
The strip mall is home to Ultrazone, KBS Kitchen & Baths, Aerus Electrolux and empty storefronts. Proposed housing project Lincoln Avenue Capital's proposed four-story housing project at 680 Grand Canyon Drive. Knothe Bruce Architects. 
The mall is outdated and needs repairs and updating, Lincoln Avenue Capital’s application to the city says. The site’s 2023 assessment is $1.89 million.

The meeting lasted an hour, according to a person who witnessed the gathering, and the men dined from a buffet-style setup near where Sylvester Stallone, whom Mr. Trump just named as one of his three “special ambassadors” to Hollywood, was having lunch. 
The surprise trip to Florida by Mr. Adams, a Democrat who is confronting an uphill battle for re-election this year, comes as the mayor faces an April trial on federal corruption charges. 
Mr. Trump, a Republican, said last month that he would consider granting Mr. Adams a pardon, arguing that both men had been “persecuted” by politically motivated prosecutors.

CES 2025: Pollen Robotics debuts Reachy 2 humanoid

Pollen Robotics said it has enhanced Reachy 2’s features to address market needs, making it a powerful tool for prototyping and deployment. Unlike many proprietary systems, the two-armed manipulator is designed for adaptability, the company claimed. 
Reachy 2 is fully open-source, can be teleoperated or controlled with Python, and runs on ROS2 Foxy. Strategic partnerships, including a collaboration with Hugging Face, have driven developments in generative AI for robots including humanoids. 
The service robot is available in four configurations: a dual or a single armed mobile manipulator with an autonomous mobile robot (AMR) base, or a dual or single arm with a stationary base. The latest version of Reachy is intended for research centers, healthcare, and retail.
