Roy Graber reports:
Highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) has been confirmed in two more commercial poultry flocks and several backyard flocks in Argentina.
A report from the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) detailed the situation that involved a laying hen flock in Alejo Ledesma and a flock of heavy breeding stock in Lobos.
According to the WOAH report, the National Service for Agrifood Health and Quality (SENASA) received a notification of mortality and clinical signs compatible with HPAI at the Lobos farm, in which the farmer informed the agency that the symptoms became noticeable on February 22, 2026. Three days later, samples taken at the farm tested positive for HPAI. The flock included nearly 19,800 birds.
