McCone County, Montana, a treeless, gently rolling prairieland, is sometimes called the dinosaur capital of the world. This is not because more dinosaurs lived in this part of southeastern Montana than anywhere else, but, rather, because geological circumstances favoring fossilization, then erosion, enable paleontologists to find dinosaurs there.
