The Indiana State Board of Animal Health (BOAH) reported the presence of highly pathogenic avian influenza has been detected in a flock of 19,570 commercial laying hens in LaGrange County.
The premises was quarantined. Also, 10-kilometer control area and a 20-kilometer surveillance zone have been established, with both including portions of LaGrange, Elkhart and Noble counties.
The flock has not yet been listed on the BOAH website as a confirmed case.
