Likely Iowa Republican caucusgoers view Donald Trump as the best candidate to handle an array of issues as president — from the economy to caring about people like them to protecting America’s democracy.
The Milwaukee Business Journal reported that Microsoft plans to initially hire 200 employees at its Mount Pleasant data center — and could add over 460 jobs over time. But it’ll still be a fraction of the 13,000 jobs that Foxconn originally promised the area back in 2017.
Robotic shoes developer Shift Robotics will be there and is set to unveil its latest ‘Moonwalker’ robotic shoes at this year’s event.
The shoes leverage AI to measure a user’s step 100 times each second, providing individualized support to a wearer to improve performance and safety, with a particular focus on users who spend the majority of their work days on their feet.
Designed with several wheels at the base, the shoes can swap between static and wheeled, working like regular shoes or roller skates depending on the terrain and user’s choice.
In time for CES 2024, which runs from January 9th to 12th, 2024, LG Electronics reveals a two-legged, smart home AI robot that acts as an all-around, independent house manager and can control the appliances and devices on its own. The two-legged AI robot joins LG’s family of Zero Labor Home vision, which aims to improve the lives of the users by lending a hand to their daily activities using electronics and a mission of the brand that will be delved into during CES 2024.
LG’s two-legged AI robot can wheel itself around the house to carry out its tasks. It is equipped with a built-in camera, speaker, and various sensors to gather real-time environmental data, including temperature, humidity, and indoor air quality. It also comes with face and user recognition capabilities through Qualcomm Technologies’ Robotics RB5 Platform. Combining all these features, no wonder the two-legged AI robot can move around independently and switch on and off devices autonomously.
Ruahlab Inc.’s Ruah wearable has received an innovation award from the CES CEA organisation even before the show begins. From a glance it looks a bit like a face mask worn only over the nose. However, it’s an AI-powered device that monitors breathing patterns, in order to help diagnose sleep apnea. As such, it’s a much more convenient alternative to polysomnography, which uses a multi-sensor polysomnogram to assess sleep abnormalities.
At CES 2023, Withings showed the U-Scan, a headline-grabber of an announcement. The U-Scan is a urine analysis sensor designed to be mounted inside your toilet bowl. It can measure ketones, Vitamin C levels, water composition and acid base. One year on it’s still listed as “coming soon” on the Withings website. It has teased something equally compelling may be at CES 2024, tweeting “the dawn of our next revolution is imminent” on December 22.
According to the Dairy Alliance, approximately 86 million homes celebrate Christmas. If each household leaves one 8 oz. glass of milk out for St. Nick to enjoy, he will consume an estimated 688 million ounces of nature’s most perfect beverage. This equates to:
- 46,225,000 lbs. of milk 5,375,000 million gallons of milk
- Roughly 716 tanker-trailers full of milk
- Enough milk to make more than 4 million lbs. of cheese or ice cream
- Enough milk to fill eight Olympic-sized swimming pools
- A day's worth of milk from approximately 827,000 cows
Speaker Robin Vos, R-Rochester, told Jessica McBride on the Dan O’Donnell Show that Democratic Gov. Tony Evers is likely to veto any maps drawn and only wants "lap dogs" to do his bidding. The conversation comes in the wake of Friday's state Supreme Court ruling calling for a redraw.
A poll of 502 likely Republican caucusgoers conducted Dec. 2-7 asked whether several statements Trump has made recently on the campaign trail would make them more or less likely to support him — including his contention that immigrants who enter the U.S. illegally are "poisoning the blood" of America.
The poll found that 42% of likely Republican caucusgoers are more likely to support Trump for his "poisoning the blood" comments; 28% said they are less likely to support him; and 29% said it does not matter. [emphasis added]
The motion raises two potential issues that could be appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court: Liberal Justice Janet Protasiewicz not recusing herself from the case despite receiving funds from Democrats and calling the current maps "rigged" while she was a candidate for the court, and an alleged violation of the Fourteenth Amendment's due process guarantee "by depriving the parties of a full and fair opportunity to litigate this case."
The current maps are indeed rigged, crybabies.
“Wonka,” a family-friendly look at how Willy Wonka broke into the confection game, topped the box office on Wednesday, adding $8 million to push the film past the $100 million mark domestically. The movie’s stateside gross stands at a delicious $102.5 million. “Wonka” is also performing well overseas — its global haul of more than $270 million is a strong result for Warner Bros. and the film’s star, Timothée Chalamet.
“Migration,” Illumination and Universal’s animated adventure about a family of mallards, took second place on the charts, earning $6.3 million. The film has earned a disappointing $30.6 million domestically, but is hoping to draw ticket buyers looking for something to do with their kids over the holiday season, which could bolster its results.
“One of my biggest regrets was hiring Gableman,” said Vos, who fired the judge days after his primary. “He was way wackier than I thought. He was disappointing. He was inept. He was way worse for the system.”
