Roy Graber reports:
A flock of turkey breeder hens in South Dakota is the latest case of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) in a commercial poultry operation to be reported in the United States.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) reported that the situation was confirmed on November 24 and involved 24,000 breeder hens in Edmunds County.
This situation comes five days after another Edmunds County flock was struck by HPAI. In that case 35,400 birds were affected.
