Lancaster County Pennsylvania reports yet another case of bird flu

According to information from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), the affected farm is in Lancaster County, and the situation involved 18,000 ducks. 
The last time a commercial poultry flock in Pennsylvania was struck by HPAI was March 17, with that case involving a flock of 870,000 laying hens, also in Lancaster County.With the latest flock infection, 
Pennsylvania has lost 18 commercial flocks to HPAI to date in 2026. All but one of those have been in Lancaster County. The other one was in Dauphin County, which borders Lancaster County on its southern edge. In that instance 70,000 laying hens were lost.
