Police arrested the former pastor of La Vida Church in Angleton on a sexual assault charge tied to allegations reported earlier this year, Angleton police said Thursday.
Police took Alex Montealegre, 61, into custody Wednesday in connection with a sexual assault investigation that began Jan. 13, police said. He posted $100,000 bond and was released from Brazoria County jail on Thursday.
The case stems from an incident alleged to have occurred in July 2025.
