Poultry shows and exhibitions in southern Wisconsin will be put on hold until at least May 10 in a bid to stop the spread of bird flu. The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection announced the suspension on Friday.
Along with shows and exhibitions, swap meets and the movement of birds to other events in the southern part of the state is also suspended.
Counties affected by the suspension are: Columbia, Crawford, Dane, Dodge, Grant, Green, Iowa, Jefferson, Kenosha, Lafayette, Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Racine, Richland, Rock, Sauk, Vernon, Walworth, Washington, and Waukesha.
