Adam Satariano reports:
Ms. Ballon and Ms. von Hodenberg, 43, had been caught in a trans-Atlantic battle over regulation of the internet and what constitutes protected speech. HateAid is one of Europe’s most influential proponents of social media regulation, which the organization says is critical to reducing online hate and vitriol. But American officials argue that safety rules undercut free speech globally and silence conservative voices, with the Trump administration using travel bans and other tactics to combat the policies. And the GOP recently got an assist from the Dan O’Donnell Clown Show. (And Dan is not talking about dating.)

The apology post comes about an hour before O'Donnell was set to host his 3 p.m. program. But O'Donnell was not on the air March 3, instead Matt Kittle was hosting. WISN-AM has not responded to a request for comment.
O'Donnell's predecessor at the station, Jay Weber, was suspended in 2024 for two weeks after posting vulgar comments about Walz's then-17-year-old neurodivergent son, Gus.
Following news the U.S. military conducted a mission that killed the leader of Iran on Feb. 28, O'Donnell posted the comment toward Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz on March 1.
"Now take out the Supreme Leader of Minnesota. We will be greeted as liberators," O'Donnell posted.
