Highly pathogenic avian influenza has returned to Minnesota commercial poultry, with the USDA confirming the virus in a Wright County turkey flock containing 29,800 birds on September 1, marking the state's 10th commercial flock loss to HPAI in 2026.

• First HPAI case in over three months after last confirmed case in May in Becker County

• USDA APHIS and WOAH continue monitoring outbreak; non-commercial flocks do not impact international poultry trade.
