Brianne Pfannenstiel reports:
Scott County property records show that a family trust purchased the two-bedroom unit in November 2025 for $58,500. Lake listed the trust in a previous financial disclosure for her Arizona gubernatorial bid and identified herself on the form as a "trustor/trustee."
“I love Iowa. It’s where I was raised, where I went to college, and where so much of my story began," Lake said in a Jan. 7 statement provided to the Des Moines Register. "Expanding our roots there means being closer to family and closer to the values that shaped me. Right now, I am focused on my mission to help President Trump Make America Great Again and on the work ahead, because what’s good for America is good for both Arizona and Iowa.”
When she faced similar chatter last year, Lake struck a more definitive tone.
"Kari Lake is not running for office," a spokesperson said in April 2025, just after Iowa's Republican Gov. Kim Reynolds announced her retirement.
