Wisconsin GOP gubernatorial candidate Tom Tiffany votes against extending enhanced Affordable Care Act subsidies for three years

Today, Tom Tiffany once again voted against extending the Affordable Care Act’s enhanced premium tax credits, blocking a bipartisan extension that helps working families afford health coverage. Tiffany’s vote sides with Washington Republicans over Wisconsin families who rely on affordable health insurance.
Tiffany’s opposition will allow premiums to spike for hundreds of thousands of Wisconsinites who purchase coverage on the ACA marketplace, forcing families, seniors, farmers, and small business owners to pay hundreds — or even thousands — of dollars more each year just to keep their health insurance.
“With this vote, Tom Tiffany made it clear that he’s perfectly fine with higher health care costs and more uninsured Wisconsinites,” said Tiffiany Vaughn, spokesperson for American Bridge 21st Century. “At a time when families are already being squeezed by rising costs, Tiffany chose party politics over the health and financial security of Wisconsin families — and voters won’t forget it.”
Tiffany’s vote comes after he publicly attacked ACA subsidies, claiming expanded coverage makes people “dependent,” and arguing against extending the very tax credits that keep premiums affordable for Wisconsinites. [emphasis added]
Like his idol Donald Trump, Tiffany suffers from a severe case Obama Derangement Syndrome.
