MISCREANT PREACHERS: Assaulting his wife in the Name of the Lord (#379 in a series)

Scott Lawrence reports:

A man described as a well-known pastor is jailed on a charge of family violence, accused of striking his wife multiple times in the back of her head, damaging her teeth and causing a nosebleed, according to Jasper County Sheriff Chuck Havard. 

Billy Anders, 58, is charged with Assault Causing Bodily Injury, a Class A Misdemeanor. 

On August 25 at about 8:50 p.m., Deputy Daniel Hoke responded to the Evadale sub-courthouse to meet with a woman who reported an assault to Sheriff Chuck Havard.

"In the same way husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ does the church,"  (Ephesians 5: 28-29)
