MISCREANT PREACHERS: Fighting over donations in the Name of the Lord (#205 in a series)

A South Florida priest is facing battery and other charges following a physical confrontation at a Miami-Dade church, records showed. 

The man, identified as Jesús Gabriel Saldaña, 72, who is listed as a pastor on St. Kevin’s Catholic Parish website, was arrested Saturday in Miami-Dade County on multiple charges, according to court records. 

According to a police report that was read in court, the incident happened on Thursday, Nov. 6, around 11:40 a.m. at the church on Southwest 42nd Street. The alleged victim was dropping off donations at the church when the confrontation occurred. 

The report said Saldaña, who was collecting donations at the time, told the victim she was not allowed to take photographs of a donation with a politically inclined poster related to anti-Cuba political ads. The victim then asked for her donations back, and a verbal argument ensued.
