Minnesota
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) reported HPAI in a commercial meat turkey flock in Minnesota. Confirmed September 28 in Stearns County, the outbreak affected 77,200 birds. [emphasis added]
This is the third confirmed case of HPAI in Stearns County commercial turkey flocks for the month of September. Minnesota has had eight commercial poultry flocks affected by HPAI so far in September and 17 in 2026, according to data from APHIS.
Manitoba
Another case of HPA) was confirmed in commercial poultry in the commercial province of Manitoba, bringing the number of reported incidents of the virus in the province for 2026 up to seven.
The most recent case was confirmed in the municipality of Bifrost-Riverton on September 29 by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA). The CFIA did not specify the species or number of birds involved. This case brings the second case of HPAI in commercial poultry to the municipality of Bifrost-Riverton for September.
