Following a police investigation, McCoy was arrested in June of 2014 in Madison, Tenn., and charged with raping a 17-year-old boy that he met online. Police also said they discovered emails between the teen and McCoy that showed photos of them engaging in sex acts.
After being indicted on multiple charges, McCoy was convicted of one count each of sexual exploitation of a minor and aggravated statutory rape in Nashville, Tenn., in August of 2015. He was ordered to pay $19,012 in court costs and received a four-year suspended prison sentence. Court records show he was later ordered to serve a year in prison for violating the terms of his probation.
