GET ME REWRITE: Far-right members Ottawa Impact celebrate their legacy of incompetence and ineffectiveness

John Tunison writes:
According to Moss, his legacy as chair of the Ottawa County board is one of giving voters what they want. His detractors, though, call his legacy one of an extreme “shock and awe campaign.”
His self-constructed political platform, known as Ottawa Impact, brought national media attention to Ottawa County for sweeping moves that many termed as Christian nationalist or ultra-conservative.
That intense scrutiny, along with sometimes-packed county board meetings, has diminished today after Ottawa Impact lost its controlling board majority in the November 2024 election. Five new commissioners, none tied to Ottawa Impact, took office on Jan. 2 and Moss lost his role as board chair.
Ottawa Impact remains a solid force on the 11-member board, but its unilateral power is gone with only four Ottawa Impact commissioners surviving the election.
