GET ME REWRITE: First task of newly formed majority on Ottawa County Commission is to clean up the mess left behind by far-right Ottawa Impact

Headline:  mlive, 12/30/2024
Some of the board’s decisions in 2023 and 2024 have since resulted in multiple lawsuits filed against the county, including an age-discrimination lawsuit that was settled for $225,000 and at least $360,000 in legal fees for another lawsuit filed by Hambley to keep her job.
Several moderate Republican candidates who ran in 2024 did so as a direct result of opposing Ottawa Impact decisions, including Hudsonville Mayor Mark Northrup, who went up against Moss in the Republican primary.
Four Ottawa Impact members did win reelection this cycle, including Moss in District 5, Board Vice Chair Sylvia Rhodea in District 8, Kendra Wenzel in District 6 and Allison Miedema in District 11. But two more members - Roger Belknap in District 1 and Gretchen Cosby in District 1 - lost both the primary and unsuccessful general election attempts as write-in candidates.
