GET ME REWRITE: Remaining members of far-right Ottawa Impact on county commission love to sit on their asses and cause trouble

Their contentious, sore-loser  behavior stretches a meeting into a 9.5 hour marathon.

It was a meeting largely centered around structuring county government under the new board.
"These are the rules that will govern us," board Chair John Teeples said. "Going forward, everything we do will hinge on this."
But in the early hours of what was ultimately a roughly 9.5-hour meeting, pushback ensued from some commissioners linked to the conservative group Ottawa Impact. Those associated with the group were ousted from the majority by a new group of Republicans who had campaigned on, in their view, righting the ship in county government.
But while OI may no longer be the controlling interest on the board, their influence remained visible on Tuesday.
The disharmony was especially visible when it came to things like appointing an interim administrator meant to fill a months-long gap left by the firing of former administrator and congressional candidate John Gibbs.
Multiple interim administrators have since been in the post, but no one permanent.
