Tensions simmered between Ottawa County health leaders and county commissioners as they once again discussed a food program coordinator’s position now vacant for five months. Ottawa County Health Planning and Promotion
Manager Lisa Uganski manages the Ottawa Food program and appeared at a county board committee meeting Tuesday, March 19 to answer questions. She wasn’t specifically invited to speak, but the vacancy was on the agenda.
Uganski and other health officials have been trying to get funding for the coordinator’s spot reinstated since they removed it from their budget because of a 48 percent funding cut to the health education program. [emphasis added]
