Former Ottawa County administrator looks for payback against far-right conservative Ottawa Impact

The data shows that Gibbs donated $200 to the campaign of Mark Northrup, who is running against Ottawa County Board Chair Joe Moss in the county’s District 5.  

Moss is the co-founder of Ottawa Impact, a conservative platform whose candidates gained a majority on the Ottawa County board in the 2022 election. 

Moss and other Ottawa Impact board members ushered Gibbs into the county administrator’s post in January 2023, firing then-administrator John Shay. But about a year later, it was apparent the relationship between Gibbs and several commissioners had soured.
