Maris Payne reports on Chuck's most recent episode of groveling at the altar of Trump:
Grassley said he has advocated for free trade throughout his decades-long political career, pointing to his role in the passage of major deals such as the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement outlining rules for trade and economic activity between the three North American countries as an example.
He said the World Trade Organization's process for dealing with trade disputes hasn't worked and the U.S. hasn't negotiated recent free trade agreements.
"On the other hand, we all know that President Trump for a year campaigned that he was going to increase tariffs," Grassley said. "Elections are supposed to have consequences. This looks to me like the president's having some success, and I could go through a litany of what I consider some of the successes ... but I think that hopefully I can say that the president's approach has been better than mine for negotiating."
