September has been filled with record-setting heat — and those boiling temperatures caused other records to be broken as well. 

The Tennessee Valley Authority said Thursday that this month “has been one for the record books.” “During some of the hottest days of the entire summer, our team worked hard to deliver record megawatts across miles of transmission lines in our seven-state region,” TVA said. 

“This month, our team met a +30K megawatt demand on 17 days in September — shattering the previous record for September set in 2007 with one day with a 30K megawatt demand.”  [emphasis added]

That’s 17 times more days than the 2007 record.
