The latest round of confirmed bird flu cases at two South Dakota turkey farms is raising the number of poultry to be culled once more.
According to the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, a federal agency within the U.S. Department of Agriculture, highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI), colloquially known as bird flu, was detected in commercial turkey meat bird flocks in McPherson and Turner County on Sept. 9.
