The fourth student apartment high-rise built in Downtown Madison by Chicago-based Core Spaces has opened for the fall semester, the developer announced Wednesday. 

Hub Madison Bassett, located at the corner of West Johnson and North Bassett streets, rises 12 stories and contains 910 total beds across about 235 apartments. The building also has a rooftop pool and a wellness spa with a sauna, hot tub and cold plunge, among other amenities. 

Madison’s City Council in 2023 rejected the project over concerns about affordability, then promptly reversed the decision amid possible legal complications.
