Nicole Pollock reports:
Madison's Plan Commission and City Council granted key approvals Monday and Tuesday to the proposed redevelopment, which would replace existing residential buildings at 305 N. Frances St. and 533 Conklin Place. The new building would have 387 apartments with between one and five bedrooms and 1,347 total beds.
About 10% of the beds would be offered at a 40% discount under a city zoning incentive that lets developers build extra floors in exchange for reducing rents at some of the added units. Core Spaces was among the first student housing developers to take advantage of the incentive.
