Audrey Korte reports:
A city-owned parking lot just blocks from the Capitol could soon become a vibrant new hub for housing, culture and community.
Two development teams have submitted proposals for how they would reimagine he two-acre site formerly known as the Brayton Lot. Bounded by East Washington Avenue, East Main, South Butler and South Hancock streets, the city's last fully open Downtown block available for redevelopment.
For decades, the city has floated ideas for this prime real estate, launching planning efforts that never quite took root. But now, with two ambitious proposals on the table, Madison appears poised to transform the asphalt expanse.
