Excerpt: Chilton Public Library Board members informed city officials of several updates, data and the name of the newly appointed library director last week. The new director will be Kiel resident Steve Thiry.
Library Board members discussed at an Aug. 11 meeting salary and benefit information offered to the appointed applicant. It was determined to offer the new library director a starting salary of $30,000 per year, plus benefits and a probationary period of one year.
