Ecorse's population peaked at 17,948 in 1950. Its 2017 estimated population is 9,226 -- a drop of 8,722 (49%).



Incorporated as a village in 1903 and a city in 1944, the City of Ecorse is a downriver suburb of Detroit, just south of River Rouge.
