GET ME REWRITE: Sterilization of interior space leads to restaurant closing

Closing of Brocach Irish Pub will 'leave a little bit of a hole'.  (Wisconsin State Journal, 3/30/2019)
"We're excited to see what they're going to do," Gautreau said. "Things lined up where, we'd been there for 15 years. Our lease was up. It was a new owner, so, time to move on."
The owners put the restaurant and bar, 7 W. Main St., through a major remodeling effort in 2016.

OK.  A question hangs in the air.

Why would you do a 'major remodeling effort' that recklessly obliterates a restaurant's unique ambiance a few years before your lease is up?

Something doesn't make sense here, as the new look was not a winner with customers.

And then there's this.
