RULE #1: Never take a Trafalgar poll at face value

Headline:  Washington Free Beacon, 1/18/2023
Sixty percent of voters want Congress to reverse the hiring, which Democrats funded last year with $80 billion in spending through the so-called Inflation Reduction Act, polling conducted by the Convention of States/Trafalgar Group found.
In their first act in the majority, House Republicans last week voted to rescind nearly $71 billion in funding for the IRS expansion, which would more than double the size of the agency and make it larger than the Pentagon, State Department, FBI, and Border Patrol combined.

CES 2023: EcoFlow Glacier portable refrigerator

Gear Junkie, 1/19/2023
While most other models require an external power source to keep them running, the Glacier comes with a rechargeable battery pack that can keep it chilled for up to 24 hours. The high-tech cooler can also be remotely controlled using a smartphone app and includes interior lighting and a USB-C port that is powerful enough to recharge a laptop.
But the Glacier’s standout feature might be its industry-first onboard ice maker. Users can simply pour a bottle of water into a special chamber located on top of the unit, and it automatically begins making ice for their favorite beverages. That’s sure to make this smart cooler a popular option for RVers, car campers, and tailgaters.

GET ME REWRITE: Missouri GOP fights crime and inflation with slew of anti-gay bills

From the Kansas City Star:
Kelley’s bill appears to go further than Florida’s “Don’t Say Gay” law that was enacted last year. The Florida law bans instruction on gender identity and sexual orientation in kindergarten through third grade classes, but Kelley’s provision doesn’t specify a grade level. Opponents say this type of legislation creates a chilling effect on teachers and LGBTQ students, barring kids from mentioning their LGBTQ family members and loved ones.
