This is the kind of trick picture which this photographer does not ordinarily take, but which seemed justified in this instance as a means of emphasizing the tall grass along the roadside.
The picture was taken, west of St. Marys, Kansas, from a side road. A truck and a car, at left, mark the line of U.S. 40.
