U.S. 40 Cross Section of the United States of America (Chapter 17: Fort Necessity)

That was then (1953)

Intro to chapter 17:
The view is from inside the reconstructed stockade bearing the name of Washington's original Fort Necessity.  Halfway up the side of the hill the line of modern U.S. 40 can be made out.
This is now.

For Necessity is 190 miles northwest of Baltimore.
